Charles' time on WTLS dates back to 1971 when he hosted The Gospel Train. For seven years it was one of the station’s most popular programs. He returned to host Gospel in the Morningtime, in 2000. The show, sponsored by Friendly Home Rentals, airs Sundays from 8:30 - 9:00 on WTLS.

Charles has been a frequent guest on WTLS during his stint as city councilman for Ward 3.
